Russian woman in mixed marriages

Statistics on the mixed marriages in the centralized order was assembled only in the years, close to the censuses of population, and therefore gives only general idea itself about the dynamics of international marriages in the republic.

There is clear tendency toward an increase in the share of such rejects in Russians in 70-80- e yr. both in the women and in men, in this case in the latter this index proved to be somewhat above. However, the greatest "danger" to maintaining the number of ethnic group presents an increase in the share of international rejects precisely among the women. More frequently it may happen that the child in the family inherits the nationality of father and, therefore, children from the multiethnic marriages of Russian woman with the larger probability will obtain the nationality of father, reducing thus the number of Russian Diaspora in the republic. Analyzing the dynamics of the mixed rejects of Russians in the rural locality and the cities, especially such large as the capital, it is possible to see the clear dependence of this index on the portion of Russians in the population. In the villages of Moldavia, where the ethnic medium is more uniform, and the number of Russians is small, the share of international rejects in them is constantly above.

Thus, in 1970 in villages 67% of Russian woman and 71% of Russian man consisted of the mixed marriages, whereas in Kishinev, where the fraction/portion of Russians considerably above and whereas where it is more than the possibilities to select Russian marriage partner, the share of rejects with the persons not of its nationality composed in women 50% and in men - 49%. To 1980, with a total increase in the level of international marriages in Russians in Moldavia, the indices on the village reached 71% in women and men, and according to Kishinev - 51% in women and 52% in men.
