Psychologists have studied personal ads of almost 3000 men. They report that single women that are searching men through personal ads in sections like "lonely hearts" etc., are interested in men OHOC (with their own house and their own car) more, than in men OHOT (with their own hair and their own teeth).
The researchers have concluded that the position of a man, his education and income are much more important for single women, than the appearance of men. The research has also confirmed that men like to speak about themselves much more than listen to their girlfriends, mistresses or wives. In personal ads men praise themselves more than describe their ideal partner. On the contrary, single women devote the most part of the text of their personal ads to describing the man they would like to find.
Psychologists say that the results of this research confirm the theory of Darwin about sexual inclination.
"These small personal ads confirm Darwinism, - he said at the conference of the British psychological society. - Single women and men use personal ads in a different way. Single men describe themselves, and single women try to describe the person that they are looking for in detail".
Statistics shows that men are more inclined to speak about themselves than women, describing their appearance and position in the society. Single women use more space for description of their ideal. Single women are looking for a financially secure men six times more often than men. And men want their future partners to be beautiful four times more often then women. Men and women who do not write about their appearance in their personal ads, compensate it by emphasizing their wealth.
"The difference between men's and women's personal ads is very thin, but it can be clearly traced by statistics, - said one of the researchers. - The previous study of romantic personal ads has proved, that they reflect moods of all our society quite representatively. The only thing that such research doesn't show, is that people have now begun to live very separately or so are so busy that they don't have time for a us simple association".
